My 5th grade math teacher... isn't this so unfair?

So back in 5th grade i had this math teacher that made us take this test. in two days we get the tests back to see that EVERYONE failed. after passing out the scantrons she said "ok well, everybody got bad grades because the scantron grader got messed up." and everyone had like 50's and 60's. after that she let us retake it. now this isn't what i'm mad about. it's that after she picks up the tests at the end of class she said "I'm going to put these in the gradebook. But the grade is going to be the average of the two tests." So that's like a 55 and a 100. so everyone still got like 70's or 80's. isn't that so unfair?

That's definitely not fair. Why would she average the two tests together when the first score was because of a malfunction?

that is unfair. the first test should be void. tell the math coordinator about it.
