Is politically correct degrading to religion?
Definition of politically correct: Of, relating to, or supporting broad social, political, and educational change, especially to redress historical injustices in matters such as race, class, gender, and sexual orientation. (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/politically...
I think that I should have the freedom that allows me to speak about Jesus where ever I go. I think that it is quicker not politically correct for someone to tell me that I am not allowed speak about my Lord because I might offend them, I sure don't walk around telling people that it is not politically correct for them to talk about foot ball, just because I don't want to follow the game. Is it politically correct to treat me like I am a lower class and tell me I am not allowed to speak about my Life and my Lord. What happened to my freedom of speech? What happened in our Government's laws, that allowed certain people to now be treated like a lower form of life, just because they follow higher powers, and not just Christians but all those who follow higher powers?
This has nothing to do with trying to convert anyone, its just about people talking with one another about things that are happening in our world

It is intended to degrade Christianity, but I think a better term would be discriminatory. If an atheist speaks his views in public school he is protected under the law through freedom of speech because atheistic ideas rule the public school system, but when a Christian does it they are suspended for disrupting the class and accussed of being stupid, so basically they are being told what they have to believe in order to be accepted by society and are not allowed to express themselves without ridicule or consequences by those who are in authority. The point is that you are not allowed to speak of morality in the classroom because it is considered disruptive and offensive, but talk of abortion and sexual premiscuity is not considered to be offensive to anyone. ;-)

Being politically correct is degrading to everyone because it substitutes blandness for truth. Religion is just one area effected, all of life is effected by it. It is based on the idiotic idea that people have a "right" not to be offended, which is absurd.

Um...you have a right to say just about anything you want. People have a right to tell you to STFU if they see fit. That's the beauty of living in a free country.

As far as I know there is no law against you talking about your superstitions in public.
