My least favorite version was by Livin' Blues....possibly because I could do without the vocalist. I liked the Blues Incorporated version the best. Probably because in the early 1960s they released a live album - "R & B From the Marquee" which was the first full length album ever made by a British blues band and the album consisted of numerous Willie Dixon numbers. Without Alexis Korner the music scene in Britain would have been completely different in the 1960s. So, in my opinion their version is paying tribute to American blues.

Interesting tidbit- A friend of mine just lent me a CD by Dion - "The Son of Skip James" and he does a version of Hoochie Coochie Man that's not to bad, believe it or not.

Edit: Some original Blues Incorporated members were Alexis Korner, Cyril Davies, Charlie Watts, Dick Heckstall-Smith and one or two others that I can't think of at the moment. Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker and Long John Baldy were also members of the group at one time. Many people consider Korner to have been the equal of Mayall as Britain's elder blues statesman.

I'm with Kman -and he beat me to the draw in mentioning Cyril Davies (playing harp in the clip you posted). Korner's long time co-conspirator and co-proprietor of the Ealing Club where all the Brit bluesers learned the ropes.

Thumbs up to Mighty too. Maybe Lee Ving is an L.A. thing, but it was fun at the time.
