Well, there was a superfecta at Saratoga this past summer that payed $1,523,188.00 or just over 1 1/2 million - however this is a bit deceiving since it didn't really pay that much - you see, the 1.5 million dollars was the payoff on a $2 superfecta, no one purchased a ticket at a $2 base price and only 2 people had it as a .10 superfecta, hence, the payoff was 1.5 million "on paper", but the 2 correct bettors split the pool and each only got 1/2 of the pool or $76,000.00 each - even though the payoff was listed at 1.5 million, based on a $2 wager.

In the Kentucky Derby it was the 2005 Giacomo win. The superfecta paid $864,253 to seven people.

That was higher than Mine That Bird's superfecta because in the Giacomo race, 3 of the 4 top finishers were long shots.

Just last month on December 21st, 2013 the highest superfecta payout was beaten in Gulfstream in Race #7.

There was a superfecta pool total of $161,024 total and with only 1 winning ticket the $0.10 superfecta paid $119.069.41
