First, don't let these people scare you and say that your dog will have health problems. Not all English Bulldogs have health issues. Mine haven't had any in 4 yrs. I do, however, know what to look for when buying one. They require a lot of attention and maintenance. They shed a little more than most dogs do. They will exercise with you for short periods of time then they will need to rest for a long time.
It will be a great companion and if you show it enough love it will follow you around and want to be your lapdog forever.

They are really big love bugs. They do tend to have health problems with their breathing, and can be prone to cherry eyes. Very mild tempered and sweet. They are expensive to take care of because of all their potential health problems and often have a lower than average life expectancy. Best of luck, and enjoy your new friend.

Hi
First thing to do is schedule a trip to the Vet. You can make sure he/she is current on worming / vaccinations and general health. They are prone to some breathing issues, and do not tolerate extreme heat or cold well. They make wonderful house dogs, but do need daily exercise. Here's a link that should be helpful.

Don't punish her! Every child is going to grow and learn at their own pace. Pushing or forcing a child to learn will usually turn them in the opposite direction. Don't punish her! A young child's attention span lasts only a few seconds, so you can't expect as much from her as you would say, a six year old. Encourage her. Read to her, alot! I would also recommend the Baby Einstein video series and playing the ABC song on a cd player as much as you can. Just try to make it fun for her and try not to set your expectations too high. Don't punish her!

there's no such thing as an "english bulldog" it's just a bulldog. the only other bulldog is the French bulldog- the little one.
the bigger one is just bulldog.

Well to tell you the truth, I would never get a dog older than a year old.
Because you dont really know what to expect from it.
Its best if you get a puppy and raise him the way you want him to be.
