How do I change the odometer/speedometer cable in my Tank Urban Sporty 50 CC Scooter?

I think it was rubbing against the tire and got frayed and tore.

Any help or any sites would be appreciated!

You'll need to unscrew the cable from the front wheel. There are 2 cables going in, one's the brake and you can tell which one that is by pulling your front brake lever. The other should be your speedo cable. you sould be able to unscrew it from the wheel by hand or with pliers if it's really stuck. Then you should see the end of the cable sticking out there, pull it out. Hopefully you've pulled out the whole length, compare it to the replacement one to check. If so, then just get a little grease on the new one and slide it up into the cable housing tube with the squared off end in first. Then you should be able to screw the cable housing tube back into the wheel and be good to go. You may need to line up the slot in the end of the new cable with the driver inside the wheel, just look into the place where you screw the cable in and you'll see what I mean, its simple to do.

IF however when you pulled the old cable out the whole cable didn't come out, you'll need to take off the whole top plastic body piece around the handlebars and remove the speedometer assembly. Just a lot of unscrewing the screws holding it all on. then unscrew the cable housing tube from the bottom of that, it should be the one that connects directly behind the speedometer. Then you'll have to slide the new cable through the housing tube to push the rest of the old broken cable out. Then just go ahead and screw all the pieces back on, slide the cable in from the bottom square end first, line it up and screw it back together.

    Hope that works!
