Exhaust light? You mean "Check Engine Light"? No cat is an automatic check engine light. Can't change that. "54 GTI" is unknown, what kind of car and engine is it???? OBD II is pretty unforgiving of mods done on a shoe string. Did you get the old parts with the car???? You can always seek out an honest VW shop to determine the exact cause and take any required remedial actions. It will cost money. Can you negate the sale due to undisclosed conditions????
