i joined a creative writing group last week what do you think of the 1st thing i wrote?

i was told is was very poetic but i'm not sure if it's any good ?

the pock marked ceiling seems too low the windows to small lit only by natural light the room feels to big for so few people.

i feel quite and still listening to pens scratch out ideas images and thoughts filling up the page.

cars whoosh past the room and a train rattles by derailing my stillness and blocking my thoughts.

am i wasting my time trying to be a writer

    i think it's very good!

    keep working hard!

you could just use commas in a few spaces and stuff like so!

but other than that! i could totally understand!

(was it about a school classroom?)

As a writer, I like the description used and it certainly shows promise! However, you can't judge talent based on a paragraph there has to be more information for people to go on. Ignore all negative comments and if you want to write and it is within you; you will write! To be a writer, it comes from inside not anyone else!

do not issue. some human beings take months to end a three hundred web page e book. examine. write. as you write, examine something with a thoroughly distinct tale line to stability out your concepts on writing the e book. do not hesitate to press your pen to the paper, purely initiate on a scene the position something exciting is occurring, artwork from the middle of the tale, or omit bits and are available again later to fill in the gaps. spend time sitting in a quiet position, and picture your self having a verbal replace with the significant personality, how do they look to you? do they listen, fidget? is there something your personality lacks? make spider diagrams, list words you should use, make notes on descriptions of settings or human beings. then purely allow your concepts paved the way. you could come again later to envision what to regulate, even if you should scrap the full aspect and initiate again, or in spite of. also, i'm no longer particular if this appeals to you, yet i bump into it truly facilitates to position in writing poetry earlier i am going to initiate writing. it facilitates the rhythm of my words, the distinct perspectives and kinds and purely encourages me. wish your writing is going nicely xxx

If you're still a teen, or English is your second language--you've got a lot of grammar and punctuation issues, but that's something you still have time to learn. The actual content isn't bad.

If you're over 21--who let you graduate high school?

If you re-read what you've written and can find all of the mistakes, you are not wasting your time, but you've wasted mine. Proofread before you post!

Your grammar needs some improvement, but i think you're off to a good start. You just need to keep at it, and your skills will improve. Don't give up so easily. Writing is something you gotta keep at, and for a very long time. Do you think any of your favorite writer's got anywhere by giving up?

My opinion, as a "professional" bookworm (yeah, I read a lot. And I mean a lot), is that you have talent. It's a wonderful beginning, not revealing a lot, but enough to get you interested.

However, please be careful of grammar and spelling, as that really annoys readers. Especially if it's in published books (I mean, how incompetent can the editor get??? Seriously)

It does seem to have a poetic feel to it. I love the imagery. You have me intrigued. I really hope that I can read the rest of it.

It has a very visual description. Everyone can improve if they know it or not. It could seem like a longshot but everyone finds things that are good and passionate about. Good luck with your writing.
