if you have a router hook your PRINTER DIRECTLY UP TO THE ROUTER!! but if you want to print to the actual desktop you will have to create a folder\printer folder on your desktop and you should be able to print that way!! google how to setup a shared folder its simple.

Yes. Go into the Printers and right click on the printer. Select SHARING. If using Vista, click on CHANGE SHARING and then select Share the Printer. If you are using XP, rt.click on the printer and configure the sharing as well. Of course, for you to print from your laptop, your desktop has to be on and both the desktop and the laptop have to be on the same network.

print share, you gotta go to print settings and set it to shared

but unless you have an wireless printer, youre gonna need to leave the desktop on to use the shared printer
