Houston's defense vs Lakers offense?

I thought they defender us very well and our offense struggle against that, they definitely held Kobe in check and I thought they did a good job not fouling the Lakers. I am hoping that Phil will put Bynum in the game when Yao is resting to take advantage of Houston's 2nd unit next game.

Props to the Rockets for the good game, but the series is far from over.

BQ: Lakers and Boston, who is more likely to bounce back?

BQ2: Do you believe in early struggle will make you stronger down the stretch in the playoff?

BQ3: Will the Lakers take a game in Houston??

BQ4: Will the Lakers offense bounce back for game 4?

BQ5: How many Lakers-hating Qs will we see tonight?

Update:

STAR if you like :) STAR if you don't like :(

Update 2:

DB: Where did all those Rockets fans come from??

No offense to any real fans, but wow I am seeing 50 times more Rockets fan than usual.

    BQ:Lakers will win the series

BQ2:I don't get you but yes and no

    BQ3:Yes,they will

Rockets-Lakers games over the last few years have always been tough. I knew this series would be a battle because Artest and Battier play good defense against Kobe and if they could wear him down they have a chance to win the series. The Lakers-Rockets games this year have been very close and competitve and it seems like the Rockets peaked at the right time heading into the playoffs.

The Rockets defense is the reason why I knew they'd be an alot tougher matchup for the Lakers than the Blazers. Rockets are an underrated defensive team and can lock anybody down at anytime with two of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA(Artest and Battier) on the same team.

Lakers will need to get buckets inside if they are going to be successful in the series. The Rockets outside defense will make it hard for the Lakers to score on the perimeter and if the Lakers other than Kobe Bryant keep settling for tough perimeter shots they will have alot of problems.

Yao Ming is playing really well right now and historically big man lead teams far in the playoffs(Ewing,Malone, and Olajuan all had at least 2 NBA finals appearances). Lakers will need some kind of answer downlow against Yao Ming as well.

BQ- I think the Celtics are because they are a poised vetran championship team. The Lakers tend to show a lack of focus at times, and lack the instinct a championship team has. The Celtics in the series against the Bulls showed they have the poise to overcome deficits and adversity. I don't think Boston will win without KG,and the Lakers have a better chance to advance but I think Boston will be more poised than the Lakers team who looks lacodazicle and panicky at times.

BQ2: Yes and no. Yes because it gets you more battle tested and you will gain experience and be more prepared in tough and close games. It will make you stronger down the stretch in the sense that you are definately more battle tested and ready in a close game. I say no because if you're the favorite you give the underdog more confidence that they can play with you and beat you. Underdog teams if they beat you one team gain the ultimate confidence and no longer become intimidated by you.

BQ3: To be honest I picked the Rockets at the beggining of the series and I think the Rockets lose Game 2 but take games 3 and 4 at home to gain a 3-1 lead. Rockets are tough to beat at home and I think their defense will suffocate and tighten up even more when they get to play in front of a tough home court.

BQ4: If you mean Game 2 yes I think so. Game 4 is still a whiles away. At home at Staples I can't see the Lakers losing 2 games in a row. I think the Lakers will bounce back to win Game 2. If they lose they are in serious trouble but I think Phil Jackson will have them focused and ready for the next game

BQ5: Haters like to hate and when the Lakers lose thats when the chance is best. Im not a Lakers hater at all, and I don't hate any team but when the Lakers lose you will see haters fly. We've seen quite a few here.

DB: They were Celtics fans the other night. Im a Bulls fan and Im still here even when we lose. Those bandwagon Celtics fans from the other night are now Houston Rockets fans

Houston's defense has been underrated. This was one team I was glad not to face last year. Overall, they have bigger sized men than the Lakers do. The defense was so good that we depended too much on the tre's.

    BQ: Lakers

BQ II: I believe it will for the Lakers. They're thinking championship or bust. This should teach the Lakers not to be so reliant on the second half surge.

BQ III: Yes they will. I believe Lamar Odom will have a good game there.

BQ IV: I think the Lakers need to play defense to set up their offense.

BQ V: Probably a lot. Any game the Lakers lose will wake up the haters.

EDIT: A few people aren't giving credit to the Rocket defense. There's been a lot of mention of the Laker's threes. The reason the Lakers sucked at the three was because of the Rocket's defense. They pretty much closed the lane, and forced us to shot from far.

lakers offense will always be superior. BQ 1- I think both can bounce back, but lakers are definitely going to beat the rockets. BQ 2- Yes! BQ 3- No brainer, the rockets are not strong enough to hold the lakers down even at home. BQ 4-Yes! Especially after Kobe returns following his suspension :)

Houston was just lucky there (no offense to Rockets fans). Unfortunately, the Lakers just had a bad night and had a hard time sinking shots from downtown-- in fact, it was their fifth worst since 1996. I know they'll bounce back and hopefully have a strong come-back.

I don't think Bynum is ready yet. I know he's a great player, but with his recovery from injury (especially with that brace on his leg), it's holding him back; therefore he's still not 100% fit.

    BQ: Lakers

BQ2: What doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger.

    BQ3: Yes, hopefully.

BQ4: Yes, and not just in game 4. You saw what they did to Utah.

    BQ5: 5 maybe?

    DB: From Houston?

    edit: lol nice avatar.

Houston's defense was good, Lakers offense not so ood, though some good dunks.

Lakers will be more likely to bounce back.

Rocket got the advantage now. If they can win at home the whole series that's it.

    No.

    Yes.

    11 to 93.

kudos for giving the rockets credit, its good to see that you dont use excuses for bailing out the lakers, because fans dont relise it was the rockets mathups that won the game, i personally dont believe the lakers can come back they have yet to prove to me that the can play through adversity through the playoffs dating back to '04
