when you say compressed files? do you mean zip / rar files? if they are, you can download either winzip or winrar to extract these compressed files. After you have used the program to extract the compressed mp3 files, you will be able to play them

download and install Winrar dont worry about the option to pay when that appears just select close any way once you install winrar open it up and look for your file it will have an icon image (3books) open it up
and extract the files to a folder on your computer E.G.mymusic you dont need to put them in windows media player to transfer them to your mp3 player just do this
Go to Start and RIGHT Click choose EXPLORE
you will now have 2 panes, On the right if you highlight anything it appears on the left so with your mp3 player connected on the left pane scroll down to where your music is that you want to transfer and open it up it will appear on the right highlight a track and right click select COPY now scroll down again on the left pane and right clIck your mp3 player and select PASTE once you have done this a couple of times you will find that it is quite simple but like anything you learn once you have done it

Compressed with what format? Try extracting them or converting them using LameFE to mp3 then transfer to the player
