    1. Misty and Tucker

    2. Both are Australian Shepherds

    3. Misty is 8 and Tucker is 4

    4. Not any on this computer :(

    5. They are very smart and I couldn't imagine life without them.

    6. They do shed quite a bit

    7. It depends on your level of responsibilty and your knowledge of the breed. They are very intelligent and very trainable, but are not for everyone. They are an active breed and need alot of physical activity and mental stimulation. If you are very active, will do the basic training and obedience to make them a good dog, then sure. If you really want an aussie, do your research, call breeders and ask them about their dogs. They will ask you questions and help guide you in the right direction. Responsible breeders want good frever homes for their dogs and will tell you what you need to know. Again, they are very smart dogs and can get in trouble as a result of this if you do not spend time with them or train them well. But, the end result is a best friend, they are velcro dogs when they bond with their human, a great relationship to have.

    8. Wether they are good around other animals depends on the dog. They are a herding breed, so mine want to herd my horses all the time. Some are great with other animals or dogs and some are not, again this is something a breeder would know more about for a specific dog.

    9. Other than an aussie (which are like Lays potato chips, you can't have just one, LOL) I would love to have an Irish Wolfhound.

Brodie and Arie, Border Collies, 10.5 years and 20 months.

I love their intelligence and willing to work, Brodie's joie de vivre, and Arie's thinking skills. Don't like Brodie's reactivity to other dogs, or carelessness with his body (he has NO sense of self preservation, would jump off a cliff if I asked, creates additional responsibility to make sure he stays safe.) I only recommend them for people who are committed to being involved in some sort of dog sport and ongoing training. Do you have the money to take your dog to training classes every week, pretty much for the rest of the dog's life? Then there are private lessons, seminars, and competitions- will your parents pick up that tab? What happens to the dog when you graduate high school? Will you be going off to college or moving out? Will you be able to take your dog?

Source(s): Owned Border Collies for >10 years, involved in BC rescue and compete in agility. Also know many Aussies and some people involved in Aussie rescue.

    1.Name: Cobain

    2.Breed: Border Collie

    3.Age: 3 Years

    4.Pic:if you have one: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3607/3482123790_590...

    5.What you like about them:

Nearly everything. He has a great personality, was very easy to train, very loyal and loving.

6.What you dont like about them:if anything:

We did have to work on his problems with fear. It was not too difficult, but he had immense fears of being in public places.

7.Do you recommend them for a kid(im 13 and REALLY want one):

It depends. Border Collies are a very high-drive breed (as are Australian Shepherds). Do you have a field and sheep for your dog to work with? If not, do you plan on doing a sport such as agility or flyball with your dog? If you answered "no" to both, I would not recommend you get either of these breeds. Border Collies NEED a job. Because of their intelligence, if they do not have something to do, they often turn to destructive behaviour which results in unhappy people.

9.Are they good with other animals if brought up with them:

Yes, any dog has the potential to be good with other animals.

10.just for extra...What breed of dog would you get if you another:

I've been looking into either another Border Collie, an Australian Kelpie, or an Australian Cattle Dog

I used to have an Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. Her name was Mollie and she had to be put down a few years ago due to cancer. She was a very loyal dog and great at herding cattle. Definately fearless. But then she was just sweet as can be and always wanted to be as close to you as she could get. She also loved riding in the front seat of my dad's pickup truck. She was brought up on a farm, so she was around chickens, ducks, turkeys, swans, peafowl, guineas, cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, cats, and other dogs. She got along fine with all of them. She was rather hyper, so while she probably wouldn't have been a good dog for younger kids, she was perfectly fine with older kids.

my mother has had and bred border collies for 35 years. they are very active hyper dogs that need alot of exercise, alot!they are naturual herders, and quite protective, the way they are brought up will determine how agressive they may become. very intelligent! many say the most of all breeds. i have owned 3.

Wilbur & Shiloh, Brother & sister

    Jack Russell Terriers

Wilbur will be two in August

Shiloh will be three in June

    Everything

    Nothing

Very Hyper needs lots of exercise and attention

Not good with other animals bred to be hunters and will kill any animal they can get a hold of.

I don't think at my age and being disabled I would get anymore pets, JRT's can live 16+ years and being they are so young we are talking at least 13-14 more years which means I'd be 76+ if I even live that long.
