Is sending a juvenile delinquent to Boot Camp a good idea or not?

Hello. I am a parent of two 13 (F) and 17 (M). I am 47 Years old. JBC's are a great idea if you never,ever want to have a relationship with your children. Sending your own flesh and blood to what is essentially prison for an unnamed crime without trial or conviction on top of that is good proof why some people should never have children. Moreover, the time spent in detention gives the juvenile opportunity to make more established criminal connections as well as being exposed to sexual assault, disease, malnutrition and a further loss of self esteem. There are plenty of well trained Doctors and Behaviorists who could do this remediation more cheaply.

I would say it could be a good idea, if the delinquent was a violent criminal on a path toward probable death. Sometimes the harsh hand of the law is a rude awakening, but sending someone to boot camp, meaning to serve in the military, is potentially a death sentence, and I oppose the death penalty. I also believe peaceful rehabilitation is the best path, despite its drawbacks and inefficiencies. Like the President's recent stand against torture, if we compromise our values in enforcing the law, then the law's intended purpose, to sustain moral authority, is lost.

PEOPLE NEED TO STOP HAVING CASUAL SEX,UNMARRIED FAMILIES AND SINGLE PARENT HOMES AND DIVORCE IN THE NAME OF MATERIALISM. a CHILD WITHOUT A MAN FIGURE IN THE HOUSE WILL MAKE THE CHILD REBEL.
