i like darker novels, like Misery by Stephen King or Lord of the Flies by william golding. (please do not suggest any more novels written by those authors)
i also like fictional memoirs like Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur golden.
i have tried the website whatshouldireadnext.com and i've searched on here at least 10 times.
i have read twilight, harry potter, and many classics. i have read 13 reasons why and pride and prejudice and gone with the wind. please don't suggest more novels by those authors, i've read them!

The Gambler by Fyodor Dostoevsky
This is a narrative that tells the story of a tutor for a wealthy family. Alexei Ivanovich is ushered the the roulette tables in Rouletteneburg to play for an elderly woman. She wins big, and Alexei returns to the table on his own behalf and wins an unforseen sum of money. Alexei is also hopelessly in love with a woman that seems to have no interest whatsoever in the tutor.
The Gambler studies in depth the psyche of a gambler, as he lives a poor life, gambling to survive after losing everything.
This is a pretty dark novel, along with other books by Dostoevsky such as:
Notes from the Underground,
The Devils/The Demons (same book, just different name)
and The Brothers Karamazov
They are all great books. The Devils and The Brothers Karamazov are very long though, so if you are getting them from a library, Notes from the Underground and The Gambler are good.

Anything by Michael Crichton. He wrote excellent page turners. You should start with Jurassic Park and go from there. The movie doesn't BEGIN to do the book justice!! Also the Prey series by John Sandford. Start with the first one, (can't recall the title) but they are all excellent. All have Prey in the title.
