Why do couples make such a big deal about whether the toilet sit should be left up or down?

Honestly a lot of couples i know fight about this...and if they don't fight, they find it worth discussing. Girls expect guys to put it down and guys don't usually like to/remember to put it down (i don't know which one). Bottom line: when a guy uses the toilet he has to put it up, so why shouldn't girls put it down when they want to use it? What do you guys think?

    Bottom Line:

This is a *WORN OUT ISSUE!

I happen to have plenty of faith in women to be

Bright Enough to know, How To Work a Toilet

Seat. If they require it down, I think they can

handle that & put it down!

Females should be over-joyed that men

    actually place the seat UP~

It doesn't matter either way to me. What's the big deal with lifting a seat or putting it down before someone uses the toilet? It's a very small action. I think also, the toilet seat and the lid should both be down if anyone's going to say anything. Then, both people have to make an effort. Besides, the bathroom will seem nicer without being able to see in the toilet.

Lmao! And then there's the possibility of the girl not looking and sitting on an "open" toilet. Lmao!

I don't know why people make it into such a big deal.

I think girls want the toilet seat to be down because they think leaving it up is gross. Leaving the lid up exposes the place where human waste once floated, so being able to cover it up with a lid could be something of a comfort to them.

I don't get why people fight over that. I think the seat should be put down after a guy uses it.

Because of religious and cultural reasons, I sit down (even though I'm a guy) so we never get into an argument over that.

Honestly? I live with two brothers and a dad. I don't care if it's up or down as long as it's dry.

But for some reason I think putting the seat and lid down when your done makes the bathroom just look cleaner..

I think there is no logical reason for a woman to complain about the seat being up or down so I have to conclude that this must be one of the hundreds of things that woman use for a reason to break their man's balls.

Any woman who falls into a toilet because she didn't look first, deserves it. That's just Darwinism at work.

Lol I hate it when he doesn't flush the toilet sometimes that's annoying, as far as the sit being up, eh no big deal I'll just put the seat down. Either way he doesn't do neither one as much.

i honestly think its kinda stupid. I totally agree with you. what's the point of complaining? guys gotta put it up and girls gotta put it down. no big deal. but w/e. some people like to argue i guess. I personally don't mind it. just make sure you look and check if the lid's down before you sit.... that and make sure there's toilet paper.... hehehe

Agreed. It really shouldn't matter...as long as it's clean. Maybe it's the whole chivalry thing: guys open doors, pay for the meal, put the toilet sit down...etc while girls...well they nag (apparently).

Lol I agree it's kind of a really stupid thing to argue about. I mean, it takes what, half a second to flip the lid up or down? It wont kill anybody.
