I’m getting ready for my spectacular performance

Late for school, almost forgot to wear my pants

Tie and button up shirt, I prepare to get ready

My breathing is heavy, my heartbeat is unsteady

Its my turn now, I’m looking out, facing the crowd

Over my head I feel like I got a little dark cloud

The crowd hushes, they’re all staring straight up

Now its my turn, got to step up and be tough

Try to speak but the words won’t come out

People staring at me with hesitant doubt

Frozen in time, something I should have anticipated

Can’t say a word, fell like I’ve been castrated

The crowds starts booing now, they’re getting me down

I think going deaf, cause I can’t hear a sound

I can’t speak and can’t move my damn body

Better do something before things get bloody

Can’t do a thing, stuck in purgatory

A failure with the same old story

You better do it now, while it begins

Take this opportunity before it ends

Back to reality, shirt on the old leather couch

Drinking more beer as I sit there and slouch

Opportunity was missed, now I’m totally screwed

I was mislead while you were misconstrued

Rude, sitting in my momma house, pride was drained

And ever since that day, life nothing but pain

34 years old with no job, feeling like I’m hopeless

The curtain reappears, like some magical hokus, pokus

Time is slowed down, I see my momma in the crowd

Everybody is jumping and starting to get loud

Put the mike up scare to speak, no words to find

Minds gone blank feeling like I’m going blind

But I start to fear, but now its starting to disappear

My mind now is focused and everything crystal clear

I speak with a thunderous roar, the crowd is wanting more

I never knew I could do this before, as I open up the door
