We are trying to figure out which relay is the glow-plug relay. Are there any websites that might have a diagram or something to help us? We have a haynes book for the car, but it's not in the book.

That rabbit was famous for it's fuse terminal block being soaked by water off the radio antenna wire which passed thru the wheel well and arched over the fuse block so you had sever oxidation of the internal plates which made up the circuit. The glow plug relay has 4 large terminals and 2 small ones. They are-87,86,85,30. those are the big ones The next is (T) and (L). I think it was the second or third one from the right.
So look there first. Then the relay.
The terminal #30 is the power to the glow plug relay. Put your test wire there and see if you get power from that. If so your terminal block is OK.
If the power in is OK next test terminal #86. If you get a light when you turn on the switch you need a relay. If no light, replace the key switch or the broken wire from the switch to term #86.

The Haynes manual usually has an electrical diagram in the back. If not, get Bentley publishers VW Factory Manual.
