Well your Ps2 could just be out of shape, or maybe just the DvD player in it, I have the same problem with my Ps2.

It works pretty good for games still, but the DvD part of it is shot completely, it won't run them at all.

Your best bet is to buy a DvD player which is usually around 30$ for the less expensive ones.

Note: This is my personal opinion but, Ps3's kind of suck, they overheat easily. And their games are like 60 - 70$ each. It's why I keep my Ps2 (For Ps games) and use a 360 for other games.

The PS2 isn't that great of a DVD player to begin with. I had to deal with this issue also with my Simpson Season collection, until I got a PS3 anyway.

the ps2 had one of the first dvd players built in it compared to all dvd players today it is really **** buy a new dvd player which u can pick up for like 50bucks or get a ps3/blue ray player the quality is way better then dvd
