ps2 dvd player trouble help?
ok i went out and bought the star trek the next generation tv series on dvd but the only dvd player i have is the one built into my playstation 2
not to mention i have lots of other dvd movies anyways i have kept my star trek dvd in very good shape and i bought one of those disks that cleans the laser eye but some of the disks still skip what else could be wrong?

Well your Ps2 could just be out of shape, or maybe just the DvD player in it, I have the same problem with my Ps2.
It works pretty good for games still, but the DvD part of it is shot completely, it won't run them at all.
Your best bet is to buy a DvD player which is usually around 30$ for the less expensive ones.
Note: This is my personal opinion but, Ps3's kind of suck, they overheat easily. And their games are like 60 - 70$ each. It's why I keep my Ps2 (For Ps games) and use a 360 for other games.

The PS2 isn't that great of a DVD player to begin with. I had to deal with this issue also with my Simpson Season collection, until I got a PS3 anyway.

the ps2 had one of the first dvd players built in it compared to all dvd players today it is really **** buy a new dvd player which u can pick up for like 50bucks or get a ps3/blue ray player the quality is way better then dvd
