Research Idea? Where do I look next?

I am researching my line and I have this interesting info, but have so far drawn a blank at finding the ultimate sources.

I’m researching William Oliver, ?ca1625- 1694. Here is what I’m trying to track down:

“Resided Piscataqua Valley between ME/NH as child; Long Island, c.1651; Stamford,CT, c.1658-1662; Elizabethtown,NJ by 1665”

This was reported in

First Settlers of Ye Plantations of Piscataway and Woodbridge, Olde East New Jersey, 1664-1714 : a period of fifty years., Monnette, Orra E., The Leroy Carman Press. California. 1931, 974.941 D2m Parts I-VII var. @ FHL 673270-10,11; 547209-01, 982096-01; 6050337; 1035762-10,

Now I have been able to verify the Stamford Ct and Elizabethtown NJ portions, but I can’t find any evidence for the Piscataqua or Long Island references.

I’ve looked for place name links at the Mormon library catalogue but Piscataqua and Long Island both leave me pretty blank in terms of leads. His name isn’t showing in any of the obvious indexes. If this is true he’s either an immigrant or the early born son of an immigrant. Monnette thought he was the son of Thomas Oliver at Fairfield CT but wasn’t sure; I’m pretty sure I’ve been able to knock down that as his parent.

Monnette was a really good researcher so he didn’t say this without having evidence. But unfortunately he gives no clue to where I might find the evidence…

Anyone have an idea of what my next step is to locate it?

Update:

Yes you have the correct William although I've disproved the parentage shown; he was not the son of Thomas Oliver, the ruling elder of the church at Boston.

And yes, I have all the CT and NJ (and really more) but - it's the Long Island and NH/ME connections I want to explore...

Thanks anyway if you can't find it.

In the 1600's, there were no Mormons, so you might have to branch out. Most vital records were kept in Protestant churches, and many have been transcribed on the web. Google all of the names on your list and see what happens. Try each name with "birth" or "death" or "marriage" or something else that would point to what you're looking for, like the names of towns.

Ever think of of a buffet of components and doing boiled omlets? you are able to make the first omlets and then merely have a buffet kind section the place human beings ought to place 2 cracked eggs into baggage and diverse components in accordance to their selection. they're somewhat undemanding with somewhat no freshen up. Very moist and scrumptious. sturdy success.
