Speakers ain't cheap, especially when you can't buy them wholesale!

I would suggest you check out the link below, the products they have tend to review very well against the name-brand competition.

Speakers are the final element in your signal chain (well, them and the box they rode in on), and is where the voltage actually turns to sound. Their quality is actually paramount, and money invested in good speakers usually means the biggest impact in tone.

Let me put it this way - go to Guitar Center and compare a head through two different cabs... say the Marshall MG 100HDFX, first through the cab it comes with, then through the Marshall 1960a cab that's a few (ha ha) hundred dollars more.

The difference is huge - a relatively tame, somewhat uninspired tone becomes a fire-breathing monster!

It's hard to really grasp how huge a difference better quality speakers can make in your rig until you go out and do the A/B comparison for yourself. Talking with my guitar tech friends, its similar with them, too... talk yourself blue in the face about how spending an extra three or four hundred dollars in speakers will get your amp a better tone, and the player will stare at you blankly, then ask if its better to just spend it on a better head?

Do your homework, you'll see what I mean.
