Yahoo messenger archive?
My yahoo messenger is messing up and I considered removing it, then downloading it again. I don't want to lose my archive though... does anybody know for sure if I can remove and re-download it without losing my archive?

The first time I did what you are wanting to do I upgraded from Yahoo Messenger 7 to 8 and lost all my archives. Now I make backups of my archives to a sub-folder in My Documents for safety. If you are running Windows XP like me, you can find all your archives in My Computer at:
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles\ ????
The ???? will be your Yahoo ID. Just copy from \Profiles\ to an easy to remember place, then you can copy them back to the profiles folder after you upgrade. This worked for me last time I had to reinstall Messenger 8 due to a HD crash.
