Can a minor child receiving ssi disability payments have a college fund?

If a minor child comes into some money (through the sale of a grandparents home) can that money be put into a trust or some type of college fund without affecting their disability income.

Your best bet is to contact the Social Security Administration directly. They can tell you what you can do to make sure the child gets to keep the money. I think if its in a college savings type plan, then SSI can't touch it. But I'm not sure.
