"Amp" is short for "Ampersand".
The "&" mark IS an Ampersand.
Since Yahoo doesn't allow the & in user names or addresses----they remove the "&" and insert "amp".

I have that, too. I also have some of my address names in quotes in order to have them at the beginning of my address book. I have been getting "quot" within the names. I guess I have not worried about it -- unless that is one of the reasons I have been having trouble sending some e-mails....
