Cell Phone Charge When A Skype User Calls Me?
If a friend in France calls me in the U.S. (Chicagoland) using Skype, what will I be charged. My friend does not have a skype number, just a U.S. skype calling plan. She can call me on a verizon phone or At&t landline. When I receive the calls, they are listed as "unavailable." Will these calls only use my minutes, or do they count as international/long distance?
Thanks

These calls, like all calls from somebody else, only cost you minutes. Only if you dial an international number do you get extra charges.

Skype only charges you if you call a phone. Skype-to-Skype calls are 100% free. Though I should point out that using Skype to make phone calls is actually a lot cheaper than using a normal landline. And usually better quality. Example: To call my mother in the states (I live in London) on a normal phone it costs me about $0.05 - $0.15 a minute. And that's landline to landline. Skype to her mobile barely hits $0.02. Note: Skype-to-Skype is free no matter where you are or where the person you're calling is. I used to use it to do video chats with my girlfriend back home in America, it was free. The only time you are charged ANYTHING is if you call a landline or mobile.
