Kristen Stewart says acting is being a professional liar.?

Does this make you more or less likely to want to see her films?

You know, an actor/friend of mine once said that actors are prostitutes.

I didn't quite understand what he meant by that, so I thought about it and he had a point.

Actors sell their bodies for a certain amount of time.

Whatever the director thinks the role calls for, the actor is there to fulfill his wishes.

Then they get paid and go home.

I now see just what he was trying to say by that..

    Edit -

I'm sorry, I just realized I didn't answer your question.

What she says in interviews and such has no bearing on if I go out to see her movies.

I find her funny and easy to look at on the screen.

But I don't really think she's destined for an Academy Award anytime soon..

She obviously doesn't particularly enjoy acting, so I'd be interested to sample her writing abilities..

  • No that wouldn't sway me to seeing her films. I don't base what films I want to see on who is in it and/or what mistakes they may have made in the past. Everybody's human including the stars. I'm not having a go at you I'm just saying it how I see it. If I'm interested in the film's say plot I'll round up some friends and go see it.

As for the acting being a professional lie I think Kristen is right. Saying that is just a blunt way of describing acting. Think about it when a person is playing a character who is say a 15 year old girl from new york who let's say goes to a public co-ed high school, is a cheerleader, schizophrenic, has three brothers and is terrified of mice. But in reality you may go to a public Catholic all girls school, you may be from the Philippines, never done cheer-leading in your life, you may be seventeen, an only child, not schizophrenic and keep mice as pets and definitely not afraid of them. See what I mean? That's saying you're something that you're not. That's the definition of lying. Ergo (I don't even know if that fits in this context I just had to use it)acting IS being a professional liar.

Its a nasty way to put it but technically it is true. An actors job is to convince the audience they are something they aren't. Robert Pattinson for instance pretending to be a vampire. The more the audience buy into the fantasy the better the film and performance. They are deceiving to entertain the tragedy is when people fall so completely for the fantasy that they believe that the actor really is the person they are portraying.

To answer the question I don't see how that admission makes her films any more appealing so no.

That is the stupidest thing I ever heard!!!!!

She didn't go to the preimre of Twilight or something like that. She sent her dad and he said,"Kristen will come when Twilight is a good movie not just one that makes money." and I was like wow she is a *****. I'm not saying she has to like Twilight, but you NEVER do that.
