at five or ten years ago I would have agreed with the first two postersI( for good reason) but as you know the ufc has been pushing a nonexistent style called mma I say nonexistent as it is beibng treated like a style(and a do all end all one at that) when it is just people facing each other using the training they have received over years of training in whatever styles they chose to spend time to learn

    1. How many people believe that martial art systems were much simplier than they are today back in 1900, 1800's and 1700's? and why? I think they were in general less specialized, because they were actually used for defense. Because of that they needed to cover a wider variety of attacks and defenses, . With the current popularity of MMA do you feel that martial arts is losing the honor, respect, code of ethics and proper culture that made it so great? You better believe it.

well..I guess you would have to look at all the movies and movie stars that made some martial arts big.

Steven Seagal - 7th Dan in Aikido

Bruce Lee - Tai Chi, Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do

Chuck Norris - Chun Kuk Do, Tang Soo Do, Karate

    Jet Li - Kung Fu

    Jackie Chan - Kung Fu

Hélio Gracie - Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, also known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Goes on and on...I think people see a lot of it in movies and on tv...then they wonder...what kind of fighting style is that ???
