Disecting a frog tomorrow! Totally freaked.?

Any tips to get through it? Thanks ahead of time.

Update:

My teacher said we don't have to do the actual disecting part. If we have to, we can leave the room and go to the library as she has an assignment ready for us.

Many students find the prospect of dissection distasteful ( to put it mildly). Then the actual event usually proves fairly straightforward and even interesting - it really can teach you a lot - the understanding that comes is far better embedded than any amount of book reading.

But some people cannot bring themselves to participate. Your teacher is obviously prepared to do his/her best to accommodate this difficulty. ..... look... you should really give it a go.....and if its too much at least you will know ( and just leave ). I did hundreds of rat dissections before eventually finding that I couldn't handle them any more - but cannot deny that most students get a huge amount out of the experience ( I had to swap classes with the biology teachers so that my classes didn't miss out.)

And the animal is already dead - it had a life to provide you with a lesson. Honour it by learning the lesson....whatever that lesson proves to be.

Don't be afraid. Don't even think of it as a frog. Pretend it was never alive, it's just a piece of science. Or you could pretend it's under anesthesia and you're a surgeon. I think it would be pretty fun actually. Don't freak out. It's just a frog.

  • if your teacher said you could go to the library then you obviously have a choice so why are you even asking this question???

You should dissect it, and savor the smells and juices....and then go home and eat spaghetti.

Just pretend it isn't real. Actually it isn't... it's all pretend. Haha :))
