I wonder how many other rugby league players are shaking that no one else comes forward after all those years?
Bet their are a lot of worried boys out their now knowing it could still come up after 7 long years. So how long does it take to get the skeleton out of the closet.

This whole issue is nothing more than a massive media beat up. Johns has not committed a crime here - all he is guilty of is infidelity. This woman did not at any point in time say "No, I have had enough". She felt suicidal and degraded afterwards because she acted like a dirty skanky ho. Remember, it takes 2 (or in this case, 8) to tango. What about that ultra-skank on 4 Corners, Charmayne. Now there's a daughter to be proud of!!! Johns has lost his job because of this??? Australia, we are a stupid, stupid, stupid nation. What a joke!!!! And all you bleeding hearts, wake up and smell the coffee.

I would imagine there are a lot of shaking athletes right now - not just in rugby. I guess the skeletons could come out of the closet throughout a lifetime. The damage is probably worse, though, if those guys are still playing their game and still in the centerpiece of the public eye.

It would be fantastic if all these women over 60 started standing up and pulling out a few wild stories of the lads from the "Invincible" years.
But then again...Why bother.
This is all about changing the attitude of players towards women.
Fatty Vautin still doesn't get it and he's the host of an award winning show. There days are numbered.

This issue extends beyond Rugby League Players to all athletes. As such I believe that there would be a lot of worried athletes living in fear that a past indiscretion, that perhaps occurred in their youth, may come back to haunt them. In the words of Homer 'in youth and beauty wisdom is rare'.
That not many past athlete indiscretions have been bought to the public eye may rest in the low profile such athletes now keep. Unfortunately, for Matthew Johns his high profile career continued long after his on field career, making him highly susceptible to the haunts of past morally bankrupt behaviour.
There are athletes out there who would be scared of impending consequences of past behaviours should they be exposed, particularly if they are morally questionable behaviours. However, the risk of such behaviours ever being exposed is proportional to the public profile they now keep.

it all depends on how high the persons public profile is. I imagine the interview fees were a lot higher considering matty johns status as a legend of the game and tv identity. If he was only a park footy player in a suburban competition you would never have heard anything about it.

There are a lot of worried men in general. Knowing that a guy can have consensual sex with a woman and seven years later, she can bring rape allegations at him through the media and destroy his life.

and other sportspeople too...
lets not forget this sort of stuff goes on all over the sportsworld.. its just the footy players arent the most intelligent when it comes to keeping it covered up & discreet.

That
And the more proper question would be will the public stop acting all ass-hurt and dramatic when their " heros " ," gods " , " da sh!t " , " da man " , " idols " are exposed and are nothing they imagined/ want them to be ?
Source(s): My guess would be.....another 7 years ? or just when the players feel that everything in life is going very well and when they just have stopped worrying about whatever twisty dirty little secrets they did.....then boom.....their life will turned upside down. Guess Karma is really a bitch huh
