Is this far for a 7 year old?
My son just turned 7 years old in April; he recently participated in his "Field Day" at school where he broke the 1st grade record by throwing a softball 76 feet. Obviously its good or he wouldn't have broke a record...so I guess my question should be what is the normal distance for a 7 year old?
Despite the responses my son as well as me and my husband are proud of him and think its really awesome he did so well!
I am just really curious!!

Thanks for everyones comments. We are very proud of him, especially since he has a disability and this just shows you can overcome the odds.
We had already enrolled him in baseball because he loves to play and he started practice last night!

Shoot yeah thats good! My little brother is 9 and cant throw it more than 50 feet, so i would say that is impressive!!!! He has a really great gift and should pursue sports because he will more than likely excel in them...congrats again and tell that little guy that he is AWESOME for me....lol...but seriously for his age, he is talented and deserves that new record.

I would think that a normal 7-year-old would throw 40-50 feet?

76 feet is good for a 7 year old- and i know a 37 year old who can only throw only 20 feet tops- so that is sooooo goooooooood!!!!

50 - 80 feet. He's doing Gr8. Throw the ball with him to get even better.
