I am a new Vegetarian and I'm not sure how to live?
So I'm a vegetarian and I have found that I am gaining weight, I walk every day but I'm not sure how to both lose weight and keep protein in my system. Does anyone know how to do either of these things?
Thank you!

beans are a good source of protein and low in fat. im assuming that you are having alot of dairy which is high in fat.
are you cold when other people are warm, or have dry skin or a lump in the front of your throat? you might be hypothyroid

My bet is that you've traded meat for something even worse, such as poptarts or big hunks of cheese. The trick is that you need to quit thinking about REPLACING meat and protein, and just think about eating right all the time. That means eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy/eggs/soy/beans/and/or nuts. When you worry about replacing meat, you're likely to do it with a big old omelette or a ginormous veggie burger. The point is that if you just keep an eye on what you eat, you'll be fine. Most of the US population gets 150% of their necessary protein, and yeah, that includes vegetarians. Don't worry about it so much! Just be active and eat good stuff. That's really all there is to it.

Being a vegetarian is a great thing! If you are gaining weight it is not because you are not eating meat. It just depends on what you are eating. Yes if you are eating potatoes, cheese, fried stuff etc. you are going to gain weight but if you are eating fruits and veggies there is no way you can put on weight. You get protein from things like edamame and leafy greens like spinach. Good luck!

the best way to lose weight is to exercise. i suggest u eat whatever u want (in moderations though of course, dunt stuf urself) n exercise for 30 mins every day. as for getting protein, im nt sure about dis but i heard somewhere dat vegeterians' problems in diet dont include protein problems. dis is because unles u live in a realy poor family dat can only afford for u 2 eat rice every meal (by itself) its hard nt 2 get protein. however wat ur body mite b lackins is iron. make sure u eat a lot of eggs (unles ur a vegan), spinach, beatroot. de best source for proteins on de oder hand are beans. especially white beans - deyr de only plants dat contain al of de amino acids u need.
