Tadpoles. Easy 10 points!!?

I got small tadpoles from a nearby pond this previous Monday. They are very small, not regular sized. I have them in my room with a regular fish tank that is meant for tadpoles. Right now, none of the tadpoles have even started growing legs or limbs of any sort. Answer the following questions please.

1) If my tadpoles are small, and black, how big will they possibly get?

2) What should I feed the tadpoles once they are on land?

3) If they turn into toads, should I keep them in the same tank with the water? If they are frogs, should I keep them in the same container?

4) When the tadpoles turn into frogs/toads, what should I feed them (keeping in mind that they are very tiny)

5) Any additional tips or comments would be appreciated with some sources where you found your information!

1.Tadpoles range in size depending on the frog or toad species. I've seen them as small as 1/4 inch long to up to 3 inches long. These big ones are bullfog tadpoles here in the U. S. I don't know the weights. A bull frog tadpole may weigh a few grams.

    2. Try feeding then the tiniest crickets you can find at petstores

3.Toad tadpoles are smaller and darker, almost black in color.

Frog tadpoles are larger and brown or tan.

here are some site that might help raise the tadepoles:

For food I would probably go back to the pond you got them from and take some of the water and pond scum, that should have enough food for them for a while. I would probably do that every week or so depending on how they look like they are doing. I've seen tadpoles eat fish food, but I'm not sure that is good for them. Once they start getting legs and stuff you might have some idea of how large they will be, but there is very hard to determine how big the frog or toad will be from the tadpoles, some very large tadpoles turn into small frogs, and other large frogs start off as very small frogs and tadpoles. You need to decide if you can keep them or not once they turn into frogs or toads, if you think you have the room for all of them then it should be fine. Since they are natural to your environment you can always let them go at some later date if they get too large or are way to noisy.

The container they are in will probably have to be modified as they grow, with sticks or leaves on the top and then maybe some rocks that they can climb on later. I know that keeping frogs can be hard and it might be best to let them go as soon as they turn into adults, but you might want to get some books on what you will need to keep frogs. You should be able to get frog food from your local pet stores, since frogs are actually common pets.

Okay, i might not be able to answer all your questions but,,

first of all don't put your tadpoles in the smae tank as fish, the fish WILL eat them x

Feed your tadpoles regular fish food they will eat it

I have some tadpoles in my little pond and they were very small for a long time and they have only just started to grow limbs

When they grow up i think it would be best to release them and they will eat what they need x

    hope i helped :)
