Horn goes off nonstop?

My mom has a 1996 Buick car and sometimes the horn just goes off by itself non stop. This happened many times. What caused this to happen? My mom took the car to fix but it never works.

Update:

Is there a way to disconnect the wire to the horn because it gets annoying sometime.

Buy a horn relay and replace it, you will find it near the fuse panel, look at the owners manuel. if you want to disconnect it, remove the wire that plugs into the horn or remove the fuse. but you need a horn, buy the relay, it's only a couple bucks

The problem is often in the turn signal switch when this happens, but the horn button itself may be bad. You'll need to repair it since the car will not pass a vehicle safety inspection without a working horn.

  • My uncle has a 1996 Buick and he had the same problem! He keeps getting it fixed but then the horn starts going off again. =/
