Romance Languages versus Asian Languages?

I just want to get the opinions of people out there who have studied foreign languages.

Right now I'm in Japanese 4 (with plans to do AP) and Chinese 3 at my school, and I considering taking Spanish next year and possibly learning a bit of French on my own.

But here is my question:

Which do you think is more challenging:

different writing systems of Asian languages

or

differences in gender conjugation and the like in romance languages?

I haven't found learning how to write Japanese/Chinese very challenging so I'm very cuious. I always thought the different pronounciation of English letters (especially in French) would be more challenging.

It depends on where your strengths and weaknesses are. If you have strong visual inclinations, then memorizing different characters and a text based approach to learning are not going to be that hard. If you're more of an auditory person then the different vowel sounds (or the tones in some Asian languages) will be easy. In general, though, for most English-only speakers the romance languages will be easier just because the shared vocabulary is so extensive whereas in Asian languages along with the characters, you also have to learn a whole new vocabulary.

I'm more familar with the Romance land Slavic Lagnuages than Asian languges. So my summary on the Romance languages

Except for French they are all rather phonetic so your problem will be remeberingthe accent.

There a lot of congates in all of them and English so you can begin reading rathr quickly.

There are only two genders in most Romance languages- the exceptions are Latin and Romanian

for the most part it is just a matter of checking the ending. Il/el/le go to words nding with concenets and o and la going to words ending in a. Except for Romanian the modern Romance languags are not inflected so you would just have to rememeber the rules on verbs.

Out of 10? I might say.. • Japanese- nine, considering I'm finding out the language and I believe the language sounds relatively lovely. If you recognize what I imply.. lol • Korean- I'm too used to the language to price. • Mandarin- eight.five, pleasant tune. I individually just like the sound of Mandarin greater than Cantonese. • Cantonese- 7, beautiful tune :) However I preserve listening to "Ddong" that suggests "poop" in Korean. lol • Vietnamese- nine, to be sincere, I have not relatively heard Vietnamese earlier than! But now I concentrate to it, it sounds beautiful well. I relatively just like the tune too. • Thai - eight, I like this tune too. lol I believe I was once ranking situated extra at the tune.. I believe each and every language is distinct in its possess method :)

Try other Asian countries that are not so familiar to learn...
