Who would be on your ideal football team?

Rules:

Active players, based on how good they will be this season, not by past achievement.

1 QB, 5 OL, any legal combination of 5 offensive-skill players.

Any reasonable front-7, 4 DBs

1 kicker or punter, 1 returner, and 1 more contributor 'off-the-bench.'

You don't have to back anything up, but if you make an unorthodox pick, you probably should defend it.

    QB: Drew Brees

OL: Joe Thomas, Jammal Brown, Jahri Evans, Steve Hutchinson, Shaun O'Hara

WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Marques Colston

    RB: Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush

    DE: Jared Allen, Mario Williams

    DT: Albert Haynesworth, Kevin Williams

    OLB: James Harrison, Julian Peterson

    ILB: Jonathan Vilma

    CB: Nnamdi Asomugha, Antoine Winfield

    S: Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed

The only one I might have to defend is Reggie Bush. As a player he average about two touchdowns per game from multiple aspect of the game. Rushing, receiving and special team. Doesn't get a lot of credit because he's never gone over 1000 yards on the ground, but he can be used in many positions.

QB - Peyton Manning. Best QB in the NFL.

RB - Adrian Peterson. All-around star, and hardest runner in the league. I may also have someone like Jonathan Stewart for 3rd down situations or goal line situations.

O-Line - T Jordan Gross, T Todd Weiner, G Alan Faneca, G Steve Hutchinsn, C Matt Birk. This O-Line would be unstoppable.

D-Line - Julius Peppers, John Abraham, Kris Jenkins, Tommie Harris. One word: DOMINATION!

Linebackers - Jon Beason (ILB), DeMarcus Ware (OLB), and Lance Briggs (OLB). All Pro Bowlers!

Kicker - Robbie Gould. Most accurate kicker in the league today I think.

Returner - Mark Jones. If you don't know who he is, check out his kick returns he has this year for Carolina...he's really good.

"Off-The-Bench-Contributor" - Malcom Jenkins, rookie CB/S out of Ohio State. Not fast, but a great tackler and catcher. He's a good talent...he can be morphed into any secondary and/or special teams position and play incredibly.
