2005 Hyundai Santa Fe – Keyless entry?

My Santa Fe that I bought 2 days ago, did not come with a keyless entry remote.

How can I tell if there is a keyless entry system on my Hyundai? and it just happens to have a missing remote? Something under the hood? In the fuse box?

I would like to get a replacement remote from eBay and program it.

Thanks

Call a dealership with your VIN, and ask them to see if your vehicle came with that option. Also, be careful when buying aftermarket transmitters...some of them will NOT program to the vehicle (I know, they all swear that they will, but some will not).

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe Keyless Remote

The quickest and easiest way to find out is to contact a Hyundai dealer and ask them to check it for you. They should be able to check it using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which is on your vehicle registration and is also imprinted on a tag somewhere at the base of your vehicle's windshield (right where the windshield meets the dashboard).

There's really nothing under the hood or in the fuse box that you can check unless Hyundai has a dedicated circuit for the keyless remote entry system (and I can't think of a single car, American or Japanese, that is made that way).

I would call the Dealer you bought it from and ask them, obviously they didn't have one when they sold it to you. My guess would be that the vehicle didn't come with the option originally. Beware buying any second party remotes as you may save a few dollars but ultimately Hyundai is going to have to prorgram that remote, you are better off to buy it from your Dealer and have them program it for you that way you may get a small discount and at least it will work. They also will warranty it for a year at least.
