What are these? Ants, termites, other?

I have an invasion of tiny black ants that have sprouted wings this week. I always thought termites were much larger than this. Do you have any ideas about what they might be? And how do I get rid of them?

For want of a better word, it is ant mating season. This is the time of year many ants grow wings to fly off and find new nests. They are not termites. Just do a search on "flying ants."

Sprtiz them with blue or green Listerine (or their equivalent). Ant traps won't work when they are winged, as they have other things on their mind.

Termites, while called white ants by many people, are white and have a different body structure.

the first one is not a termite, and is not carpenter ant neither, just Argentine ant. The second one is a subterranean termite swarmer. Good idea to do a professional inspection at your house.

Sounds like termites to me. You may want to have a couple house inspections done and compare results. If any problem is found, you can then compare prices from different exterminators who did the inspections and proceed from there.

Just to be on the safe side, it would be good to see if there really is a problem, as termites can do a lot of damage. Good luck on results.

most likely termites if they have sprouted wings. Where are you finding them with relation to the house and do you find debris around that area as well almost like saw dust but a little bigger? If so then termites.
