Batting Line question?
How do you calculate the numbers seen here in this sentence. I see a lot of this described as "batting line" : "Thursday as his line fell to .208/.318/.300"

Those numbers, colloquially referred to as the "slash stats", traditionally are in order batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging average.
BAvg == hits / at-bats
OBP == (H + BB + HBP) / (AB + BB + HBP + sac flies)
SLG == (H + 2B + 2*3B + 3*HR) / AB

Batting Average/Slugging Percentage/On Base Percentage. The slugging and on base percentages are added together to calculate a player's OPS.
