Help! Backdoor.Trojan is screwing up my computer!?

Okay, so i had this trojan a little earlier, backdoor.trojan. It kept freezing up explorer.exe, and I had to shut down my computer. I called over a geek squad guy. I told him I didn't want the computer to have its OS restored, because I had all my personal stuff on there, and I had no backups. So when he finished, he said he had restored explorer.exe and some other windows stuff back on there. Now, 2 days later, Norton is popping up, saying "Blocked backdoor.trojan." Norton says it also is experiencing problems. What now?

Update:

and i cannot restore explorer.exe, becuase the whole computer will freeze, and crash.

    Norton? :(

Do yourself a favor and grab another virus scanner that's free. Maybe something like Avast or AVG (both free on download.com) would be able to pick up something that Norton is having trouble handling.

Just do constant scans on that stuff.

Also - See if you can get explorer.exe to re-generate when it errors out. This is an easy step but it's a little more on the techy side of things. If explorer.exe errors out, open task manager - go to processes tab - file - new task - type "explorer.exe" and hit enter. This will force explorer.exe to start again. See if that'll get it running long enough to do what you gotta do (scanning wise) to get your situation ironed out.

And for the love of God - Back your stuff up! I have FOUR hard drives in my computer. Two of them are for me (1 copies my stuff) and the other two drives are for the network backup. Three computers in the house back up to those two hard drives. I know what it's like to lose stuff - don't let yourself get in that situation. It's more of a headache than you think.

Hi. first you have to get rid of norton which sucks. Then go to "www.dowload.com" or " www.freewarefiles.com "

and download Comodo internet security and Comodo boclean. Install these and scan your PC. I think you will be ok after that. good luck.
