Can immunization shots (tetnus, Hep A&B) cause extreme high levels of CK (skeletal muscle enzymes) ?

They should be about 97 but my friend has levels around 2000. This was about a year ago and now he thinks it might have started when he got shots prior to his trip to Mexico.

He had levels of 2000 - does he still have levels of 2000 a year later??? That's a pretty high result, I think it's unlikely that vaccinations would make it that high. With that kind of level, he would probably be having symptoms - CK comes from muscle so he may have had muscle pains. Three common causes of high CK are statins (tablets for high cholesterol), underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) and heavy exercise, e.g. if he did a lot of running or a very heavy workout within about 24 hours of the blood test. Ethnicity also affects it - black people have CK levels about twice as high as white people. If none of those thinga apply to him, it could be an unusual and harmless thing called macro-CK, which needs a special blood test.
