I used to drive a semi to the Bronx - Hunt's Point Produce Market - and a few other places. I really enjoyed driving in the city - believe it or not; especially when I got to make all the cars back up at the stoplight or when I was backing in somewhere to unload. I loved the Market and lots of the New Yorkers I met.

Another time I visited Manhattan. I went to lots of clubs, got to see lots of groups, and even went to the David Letterman Show {I got to shake his hand - cool}. We stayed in my friends grandmother's brownstone - interesting neighborhood - big con trast to the Bronx.

I can't tell you what I did in Queen's, or I'll go to prison if the statute of limitations hasn't run.

I was born in NY and only lived there for a few months before I went back to Ireland. Have been there a zilllion times....I love the food, Central Park, Halling for cabs, Broadway, Diversity of People. However the last time I visited I was 17, when I came out of the subway I felt so small compared to the bulidings, It was like there was no light compared to where I live in Ireland. Honestly I am soo glad I don't live there...it's so big and there isn't a sense of togetherness. But I would like to live there in my twenties. Everything is very fast paced..whereas I love an easy going lifestyle where people have time.

I hate to disappoint you because I'm sure you keep race-notes on all the "race-types" you come across every day, but many of these so-called police racial descriptions are inane. On the news they say a suspect is "Hispanic looking." In reality, he could be Sicilian or Arab. Some people mean "dark brown" by Hispanic and others mean mocha or beige. You figure it out. They could use color terms, fine. But "racial" terms are meaningless. There is a Mexican-Indian guy on my street who got a traffic ticket, on the citation there is a box for "race." The cop didn't even check the box- i guess he didn't know what "race" he was. See.

I've been to New York a few times (I live in LA) and I like it...it's a city with a great feel to it, but I'm always happy to be back home near the ocean and the sun

All the concrete and steel and noise divide the

very air you breathe in to poetry. There is nowhere
