my friend says the jonas brothers were the first people that said the word pwned but i heard it before i knew about them so who actually invented the word?

Online gamers were the first people to coin the term pwned. Because of the close proximity of the letters O and P and the rapid-fire typing that takes place during heated matches, owned (used to celebrate a victory over an opponent) was often mistakenly spelled pwned.
Gamers LOVED this and an internet legend was born.
