Is it a convection oven, regular gas oven or electric oven.
If it's gas it may not be using all the outlets and some could be blocked. Electric, the element may be burned out on one side.
Is the batter consistent and even in the pan. Is the shelf in the right position. Usually if the sides are burned and the center not done you may be using too high heat or the thermostat might be malfunctioning. Correct size pan for what you're cooking.
Hope this helps

what sort of cake pan are you using? metal cake pans are prone to burning.
if your oven temp turns out to be correct, try using a glass cake pan
if you are using an electric stove, and you have 2 racks, put one rack on the very lowest slot and cover it with metal sheet trays to block the direct heat from the heating elements....i hate electric stoves, this is the only way i can use one to bake with, otherwise everything burns
good luck!

Change the rack placement--it may be too high.
Get an oven thermostat. They are cheap and will tell you if your oven is high or low.
Turn down the temp.

Hello, you need a thermometer to check the internal temp. of the oven. It may be running too high.
