Hendrix's version is better. He wrote the song. Anyone can come along and cover Little Wing, and there will always be a portion of people who say it's better than the original. Hanson could cover Little Wing tomorrow and a bunch of teenyboppers will say its way better than the original. Does that make it true? No. The fact is, for me, that SRV's cover doesn't convey the same emotions as the original does. Hendrix's version gives me chills, and SRV's version gives me a pleasant listen. Thats the difference between them. Hendrixs version will stand the test of time.

The Stevie Ray Vaughan version is quite good, I love how he plays the song and I really enjoyed the video. I miss the lyrics however! If you wanted to just listen to an instrumental version, it's perfection.

I'm going to go with Hendrix on this one. It's one of my very favorite songs by him.

I'm going to have to go with Stevie Ray Vaughan's version. Honestly, Hendrix wasn't nearly as great as people made him out to be. SRV was great though!

Want to hear a great acoustic instrumental version that also blows Hendrix's away? If so, check out Monte Montgomery's version out--he brings a whole new meaning to acoustic guitar.

I've listened to many versions of "Little Wing" and none can beat the original.

Stevie Ray's version is better &

Voodoo Chile is MUCH better, too as

    his covers usually are....

people say 'can't be what your idols are'

but I don't think that goes for Stevie Ray Vaughan

I like Hendrix WAY better than SRV. But - and I hate to say it - SRV's version blows Hendrix away.

But...in Hendrix's defense...he didn't have the technology that SRV did. Plus, Stevie was prob'ly sober.

Technically, you would probably have to go with SRV. Emotionally, Hendrix wins hands down!
