If Buddha is fully enlightened, then how come he still gets reincarnated?
I could had sworn that the buddhist teaching is that once you reach full enlightenment you don't get reincarnated anymore.

The fate of an Enlightened Being after their Parinirvaana, is an issue that was left unanswered. Speculation regarding it was deemed futile & fruitless. The nature of a Buddha during life itself was deemed so deep & profound that their nature after dissolution of the mortal coil was deemed unconjecturable.

The Buddhas alone do not reincaranate, because they do not die. The shedding of the mortal bodily form is not considered a death when it is with a Buddha. or an arhath. The Buddhas are supposed to enter into a birthless and deathless state. The next Buddhas or previous Buddhas are different ones but they attain the same state. For example, the future one is Maithri Buddha who is not the same as the last one. If you want you too can be a Buddha according to Buddhism.
What Cheerry... has added have nothing to do with Buddhism Some such later additions to Buddhism are made with the purpose of demeaning The Buddha rather than seeing him as who really is. In no orignal teachings you find such stuff. Why should one be obsessed with Buddha's fat belly alone without knowing what Buddhism is ? Buddha was later tried to be seen as possesing Godly quaities [ those who want outlets for their fear of emotions] some of whom have added a Buddha with a fat belly too, probably some fat man claimng to be a Buddhas. What is the use of quoting them withour knowing anything about the original teaching?

You must not see Buddha as one single person.
Do you know that Buddha has 3 aspects?
Universal aspect, Celestial aspect & Physical aspect.
Sakyamuni Buddha came out from Vairocana Buddha, his 8 thousand lifetimes ago, as an avatar. He then journey the cosmos from zero to reach enlightenment about 2600 years ago on earth like acting a long movie. Now his physical form is no more, his celestial form is at the top of Rupaloka, reside in The Great Thunderous Voice Temple and also appear anywhere and everywhere at the same time. His univeral aspect and Vairocana Buddha are one and the same.
If he wanted to, he can always come back as other characters, with different names to bring people to enlightenment.
He did say, "I am now Lushana (don't know the spelling), sitting on Lotus seat, avatar thousands (or countless) of Sakyamuni, each flower has countless kingdoms within, each kingdom got one Sakyamuni."

You are generalizing buddhism as one religion when in fact it is many. some Branch's of buddhism believe you don't get reincarnated after you reach Nirvana and those branch's believe that the buddha returned because he decided to help the world so he passed at the offer never returning.

Jason...I will put it like this...in Buddhism...one of the fundamental tenets is that once you attain such a level as enlightenment...it is not such a place like this idea of Heaven... you do not stay there...it is not like..."Thank God, I am now enlightened" .... It would be the duty to leave that state and start to shed light on others on the path....What is the use of such knowledge if it were not shared? ONE. makes sense, right? Good luck. _/\_

He isnt reincarnated. Theres supposed to be another buddha coming, he is the buddha westerners are familiar with, his name is Maitreya he is the buddha with the big belly. he is supposed to come millions and millions of years in the future. also, rubbing Maitreya's belly is considered offensive.
