Japanese: how to say " I went shopping for comics"?

I think it is まんがをかいものをしました but I can't remember [been out of class for a while]

oh and since I'm only in year 1 it's going to be a simple sentence

    まんがを買いに行った

    I am not sure how you would use かいもの in the sentence, sorry

    or

    マンガをかいにいきました
