Pink Blackberry Pearl / Blackberry Curve / iPhone?

I have the option of getting one of these. Which one do you think should I get and why? (I can't decide so no answers like "which ever one you like best", please), also I know the Curve is new and the Pearl is old but I don't care if people think the Pearl is old because I still think it looks nice.

Blackberry Curve. I have a blackberry curve and an iPod touch (similar to the iPhone without the calling feature) and I could never deal with a touch screen for my phone especially since I'm big on texting. I used to use my iPod touch for AIM and emailing purposes but I just can't stand typing on that thing. However, we're all different but I feel that the Curve does everything and more and has many features that the iPhone does not. I'd also recommend getting Verizon for your Curve because they have the best service (at least where I live - northeast). If you know any friends with blackberrys, you'll definitely use the Blackberry Messenger feature excessively! It's just like AIM but for Blackberry users and you can send voicenotes, pictures, videos, have 3 and 4-way chats, etc. Good luck!

The Blackberry is one of the best creations in the world, in my opinion. I'd choose the Blackberry Curve because it is versatile, looks absolutely sleek and stunning. Also the screen seems to be bigger and the qwerty keyboard is great. It also contains 3.2mp.

I'm not to fond of the Pink Blackberry Pearl because of the design and the fact that I haven't used it.

The iPhone is a great phone for gamers but the touch screen keyboard does get very annoying after a while. It also is easily breakable whereas the Blackberry's are more durable. The image quality is okay, though for versatility not much going on. You'll get great graphics but not much of a proper phone that you could use for fun and well as business.

I think this all comes down to personal preference. The Pearl and Curve per the specs do not quite match the iPhone, but the pricing of the Curve and iPhone are comparable. Also, the iPhone, as of now, lacks the video recording of both the BlackBerry Bold and the BlackBerry Curve. I have pointed out some key differences you must consider before your purchase. Including the consideration of these factors, please visit the store and get a feel of each device:

NOTE: Also keep in your mind your purchase time. It's a RUMOR that the new iPhone will be released near the end of June, which is not far-fetched because their timing of past releases matches and they have WWDC.

    BlackBerry Curve:

Cost - $99-$399 (totally varies, look online for deals)

    Video Recording

Fit in your hand a little better than iPhone

Low default storage space (storage space can be increased with memory stick, addl. cost)

Based on the specs per BlackBerry a longer battery life (4.5 hours based on BlackBerry's website)

Requires data plan for web surfing

3G - Great for speedy web surfing

    Brighter screen

    Located based services (GPS Service)

Allows you to run your applications in the background (great for fetching emails real time and running multiple applications)

Comes in one color : black with leather backing

2.0 MP camera - Same as iPhone

    iPhone 3G:

    Cost - $199

    No video recording (YET)

    High storage capability (8-16MB)

    Smaller fit in your hand

    Better default browser

    Cheaper third-party applications

    Automatic third-party application updates

    Located based services (GPS Service)

Easier to use for consumer (IMO)

Syncs well on both Windows and Mac computers

3G - Great for speedy web surfing

Requires data plan for web surfing (includes this in the phone's monthly plan)

Comes in two colors: white and black

    BlackBerry Pearl:

Pricing - $49-199 (varies, look online)

No full QWERTY (huge deal trust me)

    Comes in various colors

    Smaller fit in your hand

    Slower than the Curve

    No 3G

I don't know which Curve you're speaking of; the newest one (8900) or the current one (83XX). I'm going to go ahead and assume your speaking of the 83XX model (which is what I have - titanium).

The Pearl and the Curve both have the same features. You can do the same things on both phones. As far as comparing these two phones, ONLY difference is the qwerty keyboard. If you like the smaller phone and don't mind the two letters to one key, then te Pearl is a wonderful device. It is small, attractive, and reliable. However, if you like to have a full qwerty keyboard, then the Curve is the one. It is slightly bigger, but not too big. It still fits in the palm of your hand.

Like I mentioned above I have a Curve. I love this phone (I prefer the full qwerty keyboard)! The trackball is great and makes everything very easy to navigate. They DO make the Curve in pink if that's what attracted you to the Pearl. The web browsing has improved leaps and bounds from before. You do get the full web browsing now (upgraded to the new firmware). You can customize, download tons of games, and there are thousands of applications to make your life easier.

NOW moving onto the iPhone. I've had both iPhones (2G & 3G). Right off the bat, let me say that the web browsing on this device is THE BEST, hands down. Nothing comes even close to the browsing on this phone. What you see on your computer moniter, is exactly what you see on your phone. The virtual keyboard is something you need to get used too. This keyboard IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY. If you have small fingers then you won't have issues, but if your fingers are big (like mine) then you tend to continue hitting other letters. Unlike the Blackberry Pearl/Curve, the iPhone does not allow you to add words to the dictionary so it doesn't auto correct it for you. Sure you can turn off the auto correction on your iPhone, but then if you make a mistake typing, you will have to go back and fix it. It gets annoying REAL QUICK, believe me. Plus when the auto correct is on, tapping the space key twice puts a period at he end of your sentance, which is a cool feature. So I wasn't a big fan of the virtual keyboard. The iPod feature is cool, the Youtube app is cool, and there are so many awesome apps in the App Store it is mind boggling. If you know how too jailbreak your iPhone, then you can customize your phone however you like, but not everybody can jailbreak their phone. Apple is not too fond of allowing customization. They make it very difficult to do so. The touch screen is very cool, but also gets old. Touch screen phones are a lot of hype. Don't buy into it. iPhones are not always known for their reliability. Phone freezes, you can hear yourself echo when you speak, touch screen doesn't always work right, and calls drop...and I'm the type of person who takes care of everything!! I never dropped my iPhone, never had it near water, never a scratch on it. Also I wasn't the only one with problems. I knew many friends and famiy who had similar issues. The iPhone was built with so much emphasis on "Entertainment" that the reason the phone was built for, which is a PHONE, doesn't always work right. And NO I'm not basing my opinions on one bad iPhone. My 2G iPhone was switched out once, my 3G iPhone was switched out three times. Hard to believe I had five lemons.

Sorry for the long essay lol, but over all I would say go with a Blackberry. It's no wonder the Curve is the BEST smartphone on the market, and the Storm out sold the iPhone in the 1st Quarter this year. You can watch videos, listen to music, play games, download applications, search the internet on your Blackberry.

My mother owns this phone. She enjoys it on some occasions but of course you only hear about the bad things and never the good things. But here are some of the things she complains about... 1) She recieves lots of e-mails from her work and also some text messages from me. The e-mails and text messages arrive in the same fashion/folder. So occasionally when I text her it gets lost in the mass amount of e-mails she recieves. 2) Everytime she goes through a metal detector/security theft prevention the alarm goes off. It's nothing against the phone structure but is quite amusing to watch... always has to apologize and say it's her phone that sets those things off. 3) If she is sending a message and gets a call during the message it gets deleted and not saved. So, she has to start the message all over when the call is finished. 4) Always complains how long the internet takes to load and function. I am also in the market for a new phone. Been searching all over and the phones that I have been most interested are; Samsung Instinct (which is coming out soon as the iphone killer), Palm Centro (I have the Palm Treo 700 and am most familiar with it... even though sometimes I want to throw it out the window), HTC Touch or Mogul. Those are all from Sprint, which is obviously my carrier, but I think they have most of these in other providers. Good luck!

I have the Pearl and the iPhone. For obvious reasons, I enjoy the iPhone more. However, I give out my blackberry number to anyone who needs to contact me right a way. Its simply A LOT easier to use the Pearl for calls and texting. But the iPhone's apps make it very attractive. I bought the Pearl first and only bought the iPhone cause i felt i needed a new iPod and couldn'tt pass out on the iPhone. I could have easily bought a iPod Touch and the Pearl. So if you want flashy apps and a lot of fun, buy the iPhone. But if you want practicality, the Pearl hands down.

Actually, I have The BLACKBERRY CURVE 8330 and i think its awesome, my sister had the blackberry purl but the battery drained in the first month she had it, then she got a new battery and then the paint on the numbers were rubbbing off.. i think that was her bad luck, but idk But the blackberry curve is awesome, the internet is very fast, and i have a Hot pink case on mine i got from ebay for 20 cent. its so cool, :). And plus its got lots of more features then the Blackberry Pearl, and I heard that the Iphone Glitches alot and that its very slow.

(just what i heard) but whatever, whatver you like you can get, i waas just here to give my opinion

iPhone all the way. My husband has the Curve and although it's nice the buttons are too small and I definitely prefer my iPhone. The Pearl is alright if you can deal without a full QWERTY keyboard but for the iPhone you can get pink sillicone cases for it for as little as £3.
