do i need to pay book fine to find out if my son passed?

unfortunately my son no matter how hard we tried would not do homework never has ( he is in 6th grade) he also never brought books home, well he says someone stole his reading book and they are trying to hit me up for 5o bucks and if i don't pay i don't get the report card... fine......but how do i know if he passed or failed or if he has to go to summer school?

Update:

i have dealt with parent teacher confer.... 504 meeting (he doesn't qualify) and counselor s he does what he wants and his grades reflect it ... he can make bs' and does....but chooses not to do homework and apparently classwork..

Update 2:

but i dont care whether i get the paper with his grades... i just need to know if i dont pay this fine how will i or will i get the info stating pass or fail or summer school if needed?

i would talk to the principal about this...maybe the two of you can work something out with both the book and your son's problems with homework and school work...don't be shy in telling them you don't know what to do and need help...tutors, after school programs, school counselor...whatever...they get paid for this...remind them of the "no child left behind rule" and ask what help you can "expect" from the school...good luck.

if you dont pay the fine he will get an incomplete for the class...thats what they mean by not getting a report card. you literally wont get the grade
