1996 chevy blazer won't start?

Engine turns over but won't start. Plenty of fuel in the tank. Battery has been replaced. Air filter has been replaced. The only way i can start the car is when i spray Starter fluid in the throttle. what could it be?

Update:

The following parts have been replaced within the past year:

Spark plugs, PCV valve, fuel filter, air filter, distributor cap and rotor.

Already had Alternator and starter checked. Both are good.

Before you go spending several hundred dollars on a fuel pump that may not have to be replaced, your best bet is to start it up using starter fluid and drive it to a local mom-and-pop mechanic with a good reputation that gives free estimates to have them look it over. There are lots of things that could cause this that don't cost a fortune to fix (could be a problem with the choke, could need a tune-up, or it could need a new fuel filter). No sense in guessing or spending money on stuff that won't solve your problem. Let someone who knows their way around engines take a look and tell you what's wrong.

i just had what sounds like the same problem with my 1995 GMC Jimmy (basically the same Vehicle)

If the car isnt starting almost like its out of gas then you need to replace the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump and the gas tank. Car works great again.
