What is metal music to you?

I love the limitless sub-genres that are out there. If you need to find a new band with a certain sound, you'll find it. I like my music to have an edge to it, and metal certainly delivers.

Metal is a high-energy form of music that really cooks!!

Metal is loud, heavy, and can be played fast or slow, but the key word here is the energy that the music brings. Listening to metal is uplifting (or sometimes I guess downright depressing), but I almost always listen to metal to get a form of aural endorphins going.

People drive around blasting their 50 Cent or whatever and I get my kicks blasting Dimmu Borgir on the way to buy milk and toilet paper.

altho music means a lot to me

and i like most metal

as a genre i couldn't care less about it

for me its all about individual moments and songs were the music make you feel something special

whether your at a concert or in the car, playing a gig in your bedroom music just seems to have the ability to make ya go wow

well at lest i think it dose and i dont think a single genre can sum that up

anyways its a really good (really hard) question

Any song/band that does the following

1 have a good guitar solo

2 you can drown out any other noise with it

3 You can head bang

4 It isnt nickleback

makes me headbang with their blast beat drumming and fast, chugging, and heavy riffs on their guitar... like slayer and kreator... thrash metal forever!

Hard, driving, and totally amazing! It's very freeing!
