Why would the Charlotte Bobcats trade Gerald Wallace?

I've been reading Yahoo's 2009 NBA mock draft and it says the Bobcats should draft Gerald Henderson because they lack at the shooting guard spot and that his stock rises even higher if they decided to let go of Gerald Wallace?

Why? I couldn't understand. He is, for me, the franchise player. Not only he resurrected his career there but he loves to play there despite the half-empty arena. Where's the loyalty in the part of the Charlotte organization? Yes, he may have a lot of trade value but the fact that I've been hearing of G-Wall rumors makes me disappointed.

What do you guys think?

I stay in Charlotte, and that i'm sufferer to being the host city of an exceedingly, quite undesirable basketball team. Gerald Wallace grow to be the Bobcat's first and easily All-celebrity. yet Michael Jordan has his twisted reasons for giving him away. for my section, i think of Jordan needs the Bobcats to end final just to be able to get the #a million Draft %.,

Yup you are right that he is a franchise player but the problem is that their team hasn't advance to the playoffs since joining the NBA. The Bobcats management has tried a lot of trades even letting go of Jason Richardson but still to no avail. They would even try it again as long as they haven't reach the playoffs.

Emeka Okafor is their franchise player and not Wallace. I stand corrected.

Bobcats are a going through a rebuilding process and getting all the young players with potential as they can. If it works out they'll become a good young team like Portland.

And as for club loyalty, its a business, Im sure they dont have anything against G-Wall and he knows its just business.
